Work with a team of investigators as a Case Manager/Complaint Intake Specialist. The Case Manager will maintain strict confidentiality, neutrality, and appropriate boundaries.
The Case Manager conducts intake of reports, asks relevant questions in order to assess allegations, provides information, creates case summaries, drafts correspondence, and provides preliminary assessments.
Drafts referrals, as necessary, to Personnel Assistance Services (PAS), Faculty Advancement, Human Resources Staff and Labor Relations, Student Affairs Office of Student Conduct, outside counseling services and domestic violence resources, University Police, etc., and collaborates with University resources to minimize or resolve concerns.
Monitors and tracks individual cases and progress to ensure compliance with applicable timelines, recommendations, on-going assessment, and to address new or emerging concerns as they arise; monitors inbox for reports and requests for information, responds to inbox reports and requests for information, and closes files as appropriate.
Communicates incoming reports needing attention promptly to leadership, as appropriate.
May be assigned other duties incidental to the nature of the position or related to the mission and functions of the Office for Institutional Equity.
Maintains internal status updates relating to intake cases, inputs data into case management software, collates documentation for the physical file, and sends correspondence/notifications through software as appropriate.
As requested by the Vice-President, the Case Manager prepares case related reports utilizing data from i-Sight software or other appropriate sources.
Responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential records, as well as tracking ongoing cases, recurrent cases and following up with students, trainees, staff and faculty who receive referrals to other services.
Assists in the appropriate and ethical assessment of data collected by and about individuals of concern in an effort to develop and maintain best practices. The Case Manager will assist the office in the gathering of metrics to assess the effectiveness of the complaint handling and investigation process.
Education/Training: | Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. |
Experience: | Requires four years of experience in case management and directly related duties and activities necessary to coordinate, implement and successfully fulfill program activities. Case management, paralegal, or related experience and experience working with Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, and other regulations that govern work in higher education required. |
