Manage programs to promote internationalization and global visibility for Duke, including planning, implementing and coordinating programs, events and activities and by administering policies and procedures within the Program.
Plan, develop and manage programs for an international clientele on campus and abroad to promote advancement of international goals.
Prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor budget; prepare financial and operational reports, forecasts and analyses. Prepare grant proposals and applications to include compilation of data and preparation of budget expenditures; monitor and verify expenditures; ensure compliance with University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures; prepare administrative reports for submission to sponsoring agency.
Identify, cultivate and solicit new sponsors and partnerships with domestic and foreign organizations; negotiate and manage contracts with outside vendors and independent contractors for services. Manage student services for the program as needed (e.g. admissions, career services and alumni relations). Plan and develop cultural and other related activities to facilitate the integration of foreign students, faculty and visitors. Travel abroad as necessary; meet with foreign officials/agencies etc. to help tailor program to specific needs of the client organization.
Develop and coordinate promotion and publicity for programs and events to include writing press releases, producing course announcements, designing and distributing ads, posters and flyers and designing and producing newsletters and brochures.
Interpret and implement departmental and divisional policies and procedures, making decisions and recommendations on operating problems and issuing instructions related to the Program; assist and advise director and staff members on administrative issues.
Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisal, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.

Education/Training: | Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program; master's degree preferred. |
Experience: | Work requires four years experience in an administration/management capacity or involving academia, instruction, grant administration or other related area, in order to acquire skills necessary to provide programming and administrative support for overseas program.
