Provide overall administrative management and coordination of various business-related functions such as finance, budget, personnel, computer application systems, space, facilities, operational procedures and policy interpretation. Refine financial performance reporting systems and formulate short and long-range goals to ensure the financially-sound performance of a large, complex, and active service operation.
Manage internal financial reporting and accounting systems; evaluate effectiveness of the systems and recommend corrective action to enhance overall efficiency; design, implement and monitor accounting and billing policies and procedures; interact with administrators to effect changes to various financial functions and to develop new systems. Plan department budget needs by analyzing departmental services and programs on both a short and long term basis; recommend priorities and goals for future departmental needs; develop and implement new services; prepare appropriate recommendations for solutions to problems, and assist in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures.
Serve as departmental liaison to ensure compatibility in the implementation of new systems; assist in system design and serve as internal resource for computer systems.
Determine fiscal requirements, make projections and prepare departmental budgets; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds; prepare financial statements reflecting status of programs and activities; ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
Coordinate the determination of fiscal requirements, prepare financial reports and analyses and review budgetary recommendations.
Represent the department by serving in an advisory capacity to University officials in the absence of the Director.
Supervise personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduled time off.

Education/Training: | Work requires communication, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. |
Experience: | Work requires five years related business, administrative or information systems experience to acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major financial and administrative functions.
