Perform and coordinate variety of student service duties, such as coordination and administration of academic advising, recruitment, maintenance of student records, and coordination of programs to enable University students to explore career opportunities.
Advise students and prospective students on such matters as admissions, financial aid, academic requirements, career development, and other campus activities. Work with Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs to coordinate school-wide academic advising and peer mentoring programs.
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of various program activities for the student community; recommend changes in policies and procedures to improve program area.
Liaise with the Admissions office to provide quality programmatic information to admissions officers for recruitment purposes; assure a smooth transition between the matriculation process and the first year advising process; work with admissions to coordinate on-campus recruitment programs.
Work with Career Services and Industrial Relations personnel to organize and administer information sessions, seminars and workshops. Provide an effective bridge between the academic advising process and the internship and career center functions.
Correspond with prospective students, applicants, University alumni, career counselors and others seeking information on admissions standards and academic and non-academic programs following established procedures and precedents.
Assist and participate with other staff members having special project responsibilities with the coordination of activities designed to accomplish established objectives.
Train and supervise work of lower level employees, students and volunteers as assigned.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Education/Training: | Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. |
Experience: | Work requires three years of experience in a student advising or other student services function. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE |
