Occupational Summary

Operate tractor trailers, medium and heavy weight trucks; load, transport, and unload or assist in unloading materials and supplies.

Work Performed

Operate tractor trailors, medium and heavy weight trucks to pick up and deliver materials and supplies.

Load and unload truck by hand or fork lift as directed and assist in loading and unloading of special or large quantities of materials or equipment.

Follow a predetermined schedule of pick up and delivery; maintain log of work-related activities including materials and supplies transported as directed. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as trees, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water; perform routine emergency repairs; maintain cleanliness of assigned area.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires the ability to understand and follow directions normally acquired through a partial high school education.

Experience

Work requires one year of truck driving experience.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

North Carolina Class A drivers license and heavy lifting required.
