Occupational Summary

Supervise, coordinate and participate in the construction, installation, alteration and repair of sheet metal products and equipment in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and work orders.

Work Performed

Supervise and participate in the construction, installation, alteration and repair of sheet metal prodcuts and equipment such as ducts and hoods for heating, air conditioning and exhaust systems through the use of blueprints, drawings and work orders.

Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space, equipment and supplies for adequate performance of duties.

Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for each assigned system of unit.

Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes; direct and follow-up any required rework or modifications. Ensure that employees are properly trained to perform duties; ensure a safe work environment; ensure compliance with Medial Center and JCAHO safety regulations.

Ensure appropriate documentation of records to ensure compliance with applicable requirements, regulations and codes.

Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, scheduling, and training. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Six to eight years of experience required in a sheet metal fabrication; supervisory skills and experience required.

Certificate, License, Registrations

Valid N.C. driver's license and a driving history acceptable under the guidelines of the Safe Driving Policy required.
