Occupational Summary

Supervise activities related to member service and teller functions of the Duke University Federal Credit Union within established policy to ensure the provision of effective and efficient member services.

Work Performed

Supervise personnel in accordance with policies adopted by the CEO and the Board of Directors in compliance with all applicable laws governing federally chartered credit unions.

Insure that the needs of the membership are met by staff, and that member requests are processed in a timely manner in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

Provide accurate and detailed information to credit union members concerning credit union services and policies.

Act as the personal image of the credit union by greeting members either in person or by telephone, in a warm, courteous manner, so as to promote good will among them.

Responsible for the general control and administration of assigned personnel within established policy.

Insure assigned personnel understand and accept the responsibilities and authorities described in their job descriptions.

Oversees implementation and coordination of new services and programs.

Supervise and develop assigned personnel while maintaining good employee morale.

Appraise the performance of assigned personnel according to personnel policy schedules and with the approval of the Member Services Officer. Recommend salary increases, as deemed appropriate, within budgetary limitations and University pay plan.

Train departmental personnel.

Reinforce development of a sales culture and oversee cross-selling of credit union services to membership.

Oversee returned deposited cash items from Teller Area and complete and submit forms to the proper authorities.

Report to IRS and maintain file on cash items deposited or withdrawn in amounts exceeding $10,000.

Oversee daily transaction documentation and retention of said documentation.

Order vault cash from Federal Reserve and maintain cash in vault as well as cash in cash dispensing machines.

Assist with collection of bad checks deposited through the Teller Area, POS disputes, and charged off accounts.

Operate and maintain a working knowledge of the data processing system as it relates to the daily operations of the credit union.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work- described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires knowledge, skills, and abilities normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors degree.

Experience

Work requires 2 years of experience in Credit Union lending or related field.
