Occupational Summary

Assist skilled tradesmen and perform semi-skilled duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities and in the construction, maintenance, upkeep and renovation of buildings, structures and fixtures.

Work Performed

Assist skilled tradesmen to include plumbers, steamfitters, electricians, carpenters, painters and welders in assigned work.

Perform semi-skilled tasks in assigned building or mechanical trade; mix mortar and plaster; select, cut and trim lumber; cut, thread, assemble and install pipes and tubing; clean electrical appliances and equipment, trace short circuits, replace fixtures and check switches and fuse boxes.

Maintain adequate supply of tools and materials, load and unload materials and transport to designated locations utilizing a variety of equipment as required.

Remove walls, baseboards, doors, window screens, plaster, bricks and blocks to facilitate repair or renovation.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training

Work requires an education/training background normally equivalent to high school with course work in skilled crafts or trades.
