Occupational Summary
Coordinate and participate in a variety of routine nontechnical duties in assisting technical and professional personnel in clinical and research laboratories.
Work Performed
Coordinate and participate in a variety of routine nontechnical duties in assisting technical and professional personnel to conduct tests, determinations and experiments in clinical and research laboratories.
Obtain, clean and sterilize instruments, glassware and equipment, and wrap, label and prepare urine, blood and other specimens.
Participate in research or clinical work involving treatment operations and experiments with animals to include care and feeding, cleaning and sanitizing cages, and observation during post-operative or treatment periods.
Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents and solutions as instructed.
Maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition. Inventory supplies; reorder as required.
Make work assignments; review work of lower level employees; train new personnel. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
