Occupational Summary

Maintain and repair a wide variety of manually and electrically operated office machines; test and demonstrate new machines to clerical personnel.

Work Performed

Inspect, disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble a variety of office machines using standard office machine repair tools.

Answer service calls from various University offices; make minor repairs on location. Inspect, check, adjust, oil and demonstrate new machines.

Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance on office machines. Maintain inventory of material and supplies; order replacments as required.

Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level


Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a high school education with course work in skilled crafts.


Work requires a knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of manual and electric office machines normally acquired through 3 years of office machine repair experience.
