Occupational Summary
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties to assist investigators in the collection, verification and compilation of research information.
Work Performed
Perform a variety of routine and complex clerical, research and data processing duties to assist investigators in gathering and compiling research data.
Supervise and monitor the work of interviewers, data coders, keypunch operators, clerks and other personnel involved in the collection and compilation of research data.
Compile and verify the accuracy of research information to determine acceptability based on quality criteria defined by control procedures; abstract, classify and code data.
Set up or write required job control language required for processing of data; submit input, programs and operating instructions to be processed by electronic computer; operate computer input/output terminal to enter and retrieve data as required.
Administer individual or group standardized tests; score tests by hand or machine using predetermined scoring formulas; observe test subjects and report behavior and other information that may affect test results. Conduct interviews following an outline on questionnaires and record answers; compile information and report to investigators.
Search library reference materials for necessary research information. Prepare and maintain files of research materials; compile and edit indices.
Assist in the compilation and distribution of reports related to research findings.
Make work assignments and review the work of lower level employees; assist in the hiring and training of new personnel.
Prepare and type related correspondence; operate office machines as required.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical, data collection and research principles normally acquired through two years post secondary education.
