Occupational Summary

Perform routine manual tasks necessary to maintain Duke University buildings and facilities.

Work Performed

Provide light maintenance and operational support to University groups requiring such services.

Perform various light maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, replacing light bulbs, opening drain lines, checking power panels (on/off only), and inspecting electrical outlets for damage.

Perform light carpentry repairs including, but not limited to, replacing windows shades, drapes, and acoustical ceiling tiles, installing traffic signs, installing furniture bumpers and adjusting closet doors.

Perform routine tasks in the assembly of furniture and other materials and equipment as required.

Operate light truck or van to pick up and deliver furniture, supplies, equipment and personnel.

Perform the duties of housekeeper when required; operate floor equipment to strip, scrub, wax and refinish floors and baseboards; clean windows, door frames and walls; clean and service assigned areas.

Report tasks beyond capability or scope to the proper authority.
