Occupational Summary

Perform minor repairs and maintenance on University high voltage electrical facilities and equipment; be familiar with and able to assist in high voltage electrical repair.

Work Performed

Assist in the installation of high voltage electrical equipment and circuits including, but not limited to wire, conduits, ducts, transformers, switches, switchgear and protective devices in facilities such as electrical substations, vaults, pole lines, underground systems and related electrical distribution system components.

Provide allied construction to include installation of telephone vaults and conduits, pulling of cables, and trenching and backfilling for street and traffic light installation.

Perform necessary duties incidental to the construction of underground duct systems including excavation, placing of precast manholes or vaults, placing of ducts and concrete, shoring, or sheeting, backfilling and landscaping.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.

Received First Aid and CPR training or do so w/i the first 30 days of employment.
