Occupational Summary
Monitor and participate in routine manual work in cleaning, servicing and stocking supplies in Duke University Buildings.
Work Performed
Monitor housekeeping activities in assigned area(s) to ensure proper cleaning, servicing and stocking of supplies, the completion of work schedules and supervisory instructions; reporting problems as necessary.
Perform housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, vacuuming and trash removal.
Ensure all supplies, materials and equipment are available in assigned work area for proper performance of duties; report equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Assist in training employees in proper cleaning techniques and use of supplies, materials and equipment.
Report need for repair to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. Perform duties supportive of the work described above.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education.
Experience
Work requires six months of cleaning experience.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Ability to perform physical tasks, including mopping, vacuuming, etc. is also required.
