Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of duties involved in maintaining Duke University golf course equipment and grounds in accordance with established schedules and instructions.

Work Performed

Inspect, maintain and repair golf course mechanical and power driven equipment to include power mowers, cushman trucks, back hoe, front end loader, rototiller, spray rigs and irrigation equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to include changing oil, lubricating equipment, sharpening cutting reels and painting equipment as necessary.

Overhaul small engines and restore old equipment as requested.

Operate light equipment as required to maintain golf course grounds appropriately.

Spray fungicides and pesticides in accordance with instructions and/or established schedules. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires an educational background normally equivalent a high school with course work in skilled crafts or trades training.

Experience

Work requires 1 year experience in maintaining grounds and landscape to acquire knowledge in the operation and maintenance of grounds and landscape equipment.
