Perform a variety of advanced technical and maintenance activities involved in the provision of audio and video services.
Perform a variety of advanced technical and maintenance activities involved in audio and video services including playback and projection from tape sources, camera recording with recorders from VHS camcorders to component Betacam SP recorders, broadcasting with analog and digital transmission systems- Set up, operate and troubleshoot video distribution systems including analog and digital systems, MATV systems, and patient education and entertainment system.
Provide basic troubleshooting, diagnostic, and maintenance for video production equipment including cameras, recorders, test equipment, monitors and editors.
Set up, operate and troubleshoot teleconferencing systems for broadcast over the NC REN microwave network and the NCIH information highway.
Set up, operate and troubleshoot compressed video teleconferencing systems including telemedicine applications. Set up, operate and troubleshoot on-location recording equipment in VHS, 3/4" and Betacam SP format.
Diagnose malfunctions and make minor adjustments and repairs to audiovisual equipment to include projection, tape recording and television equipment.
Serve as camera person on multi-camera production, with producer/director, against script requirements, and for B-roll acquisition.
Supervise, schedule, train and/or assist students and other technicians in the technical aspects of productions.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires an understanding of the operation and maintenance of video and audio equipment normally acquired through two years Post secondary education in a related technical field.
Work requires three years experience in audiovisual or a related field.
