Occupational Summary

Supervise and coordinate the cleaning, light repair and maintenance, and furnishing of Central Campus Apartments and related properties.

Work Performed

Establish and maintain schedules for the cleaning of apartments and related properties by private contractors; supervise the work of private contractors and conduct comprehensive inspections to check and assess the completed work of contracted services.

Supervise employees engaged in light housekeeping repair and maintenance of apartments and related properties; initiate work orders for jobs requiring specialized repair and maintenance of properties and appliances.

Review bids for contracted services and make recommendations to the Manager of Apartments and Properties; assist in annual budget preparation as pertains to housekeeping operations.

Inspect apartments and related properties with occupants to assess damages; determine charges for damages and explain charges to occupants.

Coordinate the moving of furniture between storage warehouses and apartments to provide appropriate furnishings for married and single student occupants and visitors to the University; keep a current inventory of all furnishings on hand and available for use.

Order supplies and equipment for the cleaning and repair of apartments and related properties; determine which products to buy based on performance and cost. Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communicative, cognitive and analytical skills normally obtained through a high school education.

Experience

Work requires a knowledge of physical facility maintenance, service and repair normally acquired through 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
