Occupational Summary

Perform advanced image analysis techniques for data sets in support of image based clinical trial research; Provide user training and technical support for DIAL's research image management services; Develop and/or modify documentation and training materials to meet defined specifications; Provide assistance and support for Digital Image Analyst I positions.

Work Performed

Apply a variety of complex computer based algorithms to digital image data sets to obtain information for research purposes. Evaluate new image analysis techniques and recommend alternative methods to the Data Manager. Confer with Data Manager to review work assignments and supervise their completion in the Data Manager's absence. Act as back-up for the Digital Image Analyst I position in their absence.

Prepare digital image data sets for computer-assisted analysis. Perform routine quality control checks on data sets per Standard Operating Procedures.

Review scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to current research projects. Review assigned articles and present information to the lab.

Work with the Data Manager and team members to improve, update and modify analytical procedures and training manuals. Train new users on DIAL's research image management system (SQUID) and imaging related software applications. Maintain training records and training documentation according to Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

Create and maintain SQUID user accounts and provide login credentials to users after training. Informs users of SQUID outages and planned system updates. Maintain SQUID account data use records.

Provide technical support for DIAL research image management services. Analyze user needs and provide feedback to Data Manager. Interface with new researchers interested in SQUID accounts, gathering relevant information and answering questions regarding DIAL's research image management services.

Attend meetings relevant to job needs and needs of the lab.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires college training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in an allied health science, a biological science, nursing or equivalent technical training.

Experience

Work requires minimum one year of experience in medical imaging.

OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Skills

Required: Medical Imaging Medical Terminology HIPAA training

Preferred: UNIX experience Web Development SANOMED HL7
