Perform, revise, and develop specialized histopathological preparations for use by a physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Perform, revise, and develop highly specialized histochemical and histopathological laboratory tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease; record results for review by physicians.
Prepare and maintain equipment for all types of tissue processing, embedding, cutting and mounting; label, record and verify quality of slides delivered to pathologist for microscopic evaluation.
Set-up equipment, instruments and apparatus for specific laboratory procedures.
Write, review and recommend changes in laboratory procedures and policies.
Provide technical assistance and training to laboratory personnel as required.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires certification as a Histotechnologist, HTL(ASCP or equivalent).
Three years of experience in a histology laboratory performing complex procedures.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
