Provide administrative support by providing program management for events such as performing ensembles, performances and exhibitions and management of the facilities and equipment associated with such events.
Provide house management for all concerts and rehearsals in departmental spaces; attend events as appropriate to ensure facilities are properly prepared according to needs of each performance and to resolve problems before and during performances; determine feasibility of performers' requests and respond as appropriate. Coordinate technical arrangements for concerts and rehearsals in departmental spaces; ensure technical needs and stage set up of performers are met; in consultation with director or artist, select, contract with and maintain liaison with technical support groups; resolve conflicts related to technical set up; maintain liaison with local radio stations to coordinate broadcasting of events when appropriate.
Supervise maintenance and security of and access to Music Department's performing facilities; implement policy related to facility access and use; resolve conflicting demands on facilities; ensure buildings and instruments are secured after use; maintain liaison with building users to prevent abuses; participate in planning for facility renovations.
Coordinate arrangements with guest artists to include extending invitations and negotiating various aspects of performances such as dates and conditions as requested by director; ensure artists' special requirements are met.
Supervise special events technicians, student assistants and ushers involved in facility and event support activities; recruit, train and supervise volunteer workers as needed; maintain liaison between the department and student organizations associated with ensembles; advise students and facilitate their activities within the University. Provide general assistance to ensemble directors regarding tours; assist with scheduling as requested; coordinate information related to tours.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Work generally requires a knowledge of the principles and activities associated with musical performances generally acquired through a bachelor's degree in the performing arts or a related field.
Work requires one year of coordination or management experience in the performing arts or a directly related field (such as a student tour manager or a stage operations coordinator) to become familiar with the administration of activities necessary to provide house, facilities and equipment management for a music department. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
