Occupational Summary
Participate in and lead the strategy and development of the Vendor Management and Customer Advocacy Office, setting policy and standards and ensuring integration with other internal functional areas as well as liaise with DCRI Contracts, Business Development, IT, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance, Finance, and Clinical Operations, while providing leadership to and oversees the day to day management of Vendor Management and Customer Advocacy function at Duke Clinical Research Institute.
Work Performed
Oversee the vendor management due diligence oversight responsibilities and data for DCRI high risk vendor base globally.
Oversee collection of market intelligence and monitor industry trends related to vendor/ risk management and modify the program accordingly to meet continually changing requirements.
Oversee measurement, monitoring and reporting on the enterprise program to identify potential business risk to DCRI operations.
Lead or contribute to development and execution of DCRI strategy relating to distressed vendors.
Lead or contribute to negotiations involving distressed vendors including mitigation plans.
Interaction with all levels within DCRI and vendor organizations, including senior management.
Manage relationships, projects and budgets for operation of the Vendor Management function within DCRI.
Represent DCRI in meetings with customers regarding vendor risk assessments and processes.
Provide regular reporting to Senior Management on Vendor Management Operations and overall risk profile of DCRI high risk vendors.
Provide guidance to the Business Development and Contract team regarding terms that should be included in vendor contracts to manage vendor risk and performance.
Coordinate with the DCRI functional groups for vendor performance data collection, vendor audits and assessment.
Collaborate with cross functional groups on audit activities relating to the vendor Serve as voice of customer into DCRI to communicate priorities and strategic intent to influence project prioritization.
Work closely with Business Development, Clinical Operations, and Information Technology to manage customer expectations with respect to delivery of new initiatives, solutions and programs.
Oversee interpretation and syntheses of direct and indirect customer feedback from various existing sources, including customer escalations, customer-facing KPIs and established customer scorecard feedback mechanisms.
Oversee conduct of quantitative and qualitative analysis to uncover actionable insights to improve customer experience and increase business process efficiency and effectiveness Use quantitative / statistical methods to estimate, track and prioritize recommendations.
Present and updates stakeholders on programs, projects and results.
Present insights, implications and recommendations to stakeholders.
Summarize findings from analytical efforts and prepares regular reports containing actionable recommendations and key take-always for different stakeholders.
Manage relationships, projects and budgets for operation of the Customer Advocacy function within DCRI.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Position requires a minimum of a BA/BS degree; Postgraduate degree (MBA, MS) is strongly desired.
Experience
Minimum of 10+ years' experience in academic research organization, clinical trial contract research industry, pharmaceutical, medical, device, biotech, including minimum 5 years' experience in vendor qualification/management.
Skills
