Occupational Summary

The Research and Grading Manager is responsible for the management and direction of day to day grading and research operations of the Duke Reading Center. Specific responsibilities are to:

Work Performed

Client Management: Create grading procedural manuals: working directly with Sponsors scientific lead to determine study objectives and then creating methods and procedures for data collection, training TAs on methods and procedures Attend regular conference calls with sponsors and CROs, addressing technical issues, handling data collection and interpretation issues, addressing any other client needs Oversee study subject eligibility reviews, determining patient eligibility Communicate with Study Sponsors as necessary Develop grading and data collection methods Present at Investigator Meetings and webinars Advise Sponsors and statisticians on data interpretation and analysis Attend Study Investigator meetings Develop study subject eligibility determination methods Oversee data transfer specifications and methods Review study data as needed Participate in development of SOPs

Management/oversight: Develop/oversee creation of technical manuals, front facing documents sent to the study sites used to train site technicians Manage Technical Analysts and Readers Write performance reviews Oversee new reader training Oversee training and certification of Study Investigators, clinical coordinators, photographers, and Technicians for OCT and other imaging and non imaging functional tests for study data capture and submission to the reading center Review reader output and provide feedback to readers

Research Activities: Assist Associates in Research with research projects Prepare presentations for study sites and scientific forums, presentations and updates on status
