Occupational Summary
The Scientific Data Manager II is responsible for managing the data outputs from scientific programs and overseeing the curation and upload of data to repositories. The Scientific Data Manager serves as a resource for investigators within the department and functions in a preceptor capacity for the Scientific Data Manager positions.
Work Performed
Scientific Data Manager II are tasked with managing basic science data outputs dedicated to pre clinical studies across several different models including but not limited to manufacturing, vaccines and therapeutics, or Phase 1, 2, 3, 4 clinical trials and challenge studies. Specific duties are defined below:
Develop protocols and implement workflows for uploading data from internal and external collaborators into new and existing database portals, communicating with data teams to define and refine what information is deposited, and data validation.
Serve as a mentor for Scientific Data Manager and facilitate his, her development. Delegate tasks specific to the successful completion of program objectives and monitor the workload and performance of the data managers.
Serve as the primary communication channel with external collaborators, sponsors, and subcontractors as it relates to data management.
Perform data transformation and data visualization using various platforms and communicate findings with multiple scientific teams.
Participate in multiple discussions with internal and external stakeholders to review and prioritize data deliverables, understanding scientific questions under discussion.
Create and approve report templates, inform data reports, and draft final reports for data analysis and data disposition for large, complex scientific programs.
Collaborate and communicate effectively, build trust and relationships within and across teams, collect requirements and ensure solutions, responses meet users needs.
Coordinate with leadership to write and maintain protocols.
Develop, test, and maintain workflows for the automated transfer of information between internal and external systems.
Work with regulatory teams and laboratories to facilitate queries into the inventory databases while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to all appropriate regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Completion of an Associate degree in basic science, public health, clinical research or other related scientific field.
Experience
Six years of data management or research experience. A Bachelor degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience.
Skills
Experience in Biotech, Biopharma, Clinical Trials is strongly preferred. Additional training in data management or related training is desired. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE
