Occupational Summary

Plan, coordinate and implement programs and activities to meet established goals for the Law School Annual Fund to maintain a high level of financial support for Law School programs and projects from alumni, faculty, parents and friends.

Work Performed

Plan and coordinate a variety of fund raising activities and programs to promote the concept of annual giving among alumni, students, faculty and friends of the Law School; establish goals and operating plans in conjunction with the Associate Deans; implement plans and conduct periodic evaluations of program results.

Coordinate direct mail solicitation programs for alumni, faculty, parents and friends to include planning, implementation, tracking and evaluation; recommend and implement program modifications and new methods, procedures and initiatives as appropriate; coordinate class agent activities to include soliciting new agents and supervising the preparation of class agent letters; supervise direct mail solicitation production and coordinate mailing lists.

Plan, manage and conduct phonothon program activities to include determining schedules, ordering and batching pledge cards, recruiting and training volunteers and supervising logistical arrangements; monitor progress toward phonothon goal; recommend and implement program modifications as needed to achieve established goals.

Develop and maintain personal contact with prospects to develop their interest in Annual Giving programs and to provide information concerning gift utilization; manage graduating class campaign.

Supervise Annual Fund matching gift program to include tracking and identifying initiatives for increasing gifts.

Manage Barristers program to include maintaining current lists, Barrister solicitations, identifying Barrister prospects, and tracking privileges.

Supervise the accurate recording, reporting and acknowledgement of all annual fund gifts received by the Law School to include production of donor lists for Annual Report and resolving annual fund gift reporting issues with the Office of Gift Records.

Participate with Associate Deans in development of prospect identification and tracking system for the Law School.

Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals and vacation schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires three years experience in alumni affairs, public relations, fund raising, sales and promotions, marketing, student activities or a related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in general fund raising activities and proposal development. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
