Occupational Summary

Manage and participate in the planning, development and assessment of Employee Health operations and programs.

Work Performed

Plan, develop and evaluate the infectious disease program ensuring appropriate employee education and immunization as well as assessment and treatment of infectious disease exposures.

Manage and coordinate placement and periodic health reviews including evaluation of occupational fitness for a specific job category.

Manage on the job injuries or illnesses and health consultations including assessment, treatment and referral to appropriate resources as required.

Plan, develop and implement cost efficient health promotion activities. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.

Determine fiscal requirements for employee occupational health service activities and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.

Manage various personnel functions including, but not limited, to hiring, performance appraisal and disciplinary actions.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires completion of an accredited Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, Associates degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma Program and four years experience in occupational medicine. State of North Carolina licensure is also required.

OR

Work requires a bachelors' degree in Health Science, licensure as a Physician's Associate by the National Board of Medical Examiners or American Academy of Physician's Associates and two years of experience in occupational medicine.

A Master's degree in Public Health may be substituted for two years of experience.
