Occupational Summary

The Associate Dean oversees the School of Medicines medical education programs and the supporting administrative infrastructure.

Work Performed

Oversight of the medical Training program to included staffing, budget formulation, and space needs.

Management of medical education space concerns to include management of staff, space assignments, design and planning of new offices and reports related to needs for capital and operational improvements.

Responsibility in areas of budget and finance oversight.

Direct responsibility for the School of Medicine medical Education Admin office, Financial Aid Dept. and Registrar Dept.

Responsibility for overall office Budgets for Medical Education Admin, Office of Curriculum, Financial Aid, Registrar, MSTP, Gross Anatomy, Continuing Medical Education.

Provide leadership for the development, implementation and coordination of an infrastructure that supports the administration of the divisions of medical education at the Duke University School of Medicine.

Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and/or conclusions.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
