Occupational Summary

Create marketing strategies for assigned programs; evaluate content and quality of programs and identify most effective methods for implementing marketing strategy in key market segments.

Work Performed

Create marketing strategies for assigned programs by utilizing market data, financial data, competitor data, trend data and by making assumptions about future competitor actions and future trends in the market.

Identify most effective methods for implementing market strategy in key market segments by evaluating content and quality of assigned programs.

Recommend pricing points for products utilizing external and internal market data; formulate and implement budgets and schedules for marketing programs; monitor budgets and explain variances.

Delegate the design and packaging of product support materials to marketing staff; provide technical assistance to staff to ensure compliance with program objectives and standards.

Periodically evaluate market position of assigned clinical programs and the effectiveness of marketing products; recommend changes in marketing programs and advise clinical program management of their market position.

Anticipate future changes in market trends and competitor behavior; assess the impact of future changes on existing marketing programs.

Coordinate efforts of physicians, clinical leadership, business managers, service line managers, managed care and financial analysts, affiliations managers, communications and public relations staff to accomplish marketing goals and objectives.

Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a general business background generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business related field.

Experience

Work requires six years related business or administrative experience to acquire competence in a variety of activities related to health service marketing and health administration planning.

A master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Administration, or Public Policy may be substituted for two years experience.
