Occupational Summary

Develops and administers loss prevention programs for Duke Stores.

Work Performed

Develop, implement, and execute all Loss Prevention programs. Reduce and/or help maintain inventory shrink and cash over/shorts to the budgeted goals.

Build positive partnerships with campus law enforcement, and store management and employees regarding Loss Prevention Programs.

Ensure that the stores are focused on their inventory shortage goals and that stores are using all tools available to achieve their goals.

Create a high level of employee awareness for shrink issues related to internal and external theft, operational deficiencies and physical security.

Maintain physical security of facilities to prevent and deter theft/fraud.

Conduct risk management inspections and communicate potential safety hazards and vulnerability in active security measures. Ensure effective use of CCTV. Analyze POS system data to expose internal fraud and/or operational issues that may cause shrink. Proactively resolve audit deficiencies.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires two years experience in internal control, operational auditing, or other related capacity to acquire skills necessary to manage and coordinate loss prevention programs.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills

Must have good communication, organization, training and people skills; Experience in the area of employee theft, investigation and interview; Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems; Proficiency with computer technology including POS systems and exception reporting.
