Occupational Summary

Coordinate assigned area of football tactics and strategy in performing a variety of duties related to the planning, organizing and coaching of the Duke University football team.

Work Performed

Coordinate and participate in the planning and coaching of the Duke University football team in an assigned area of football tactics and strategy; analyze individual and team performance and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.

Coordinate the collection and analysis of specific tactical and statistical data of opponent teams and prepare game plans accordingly.

Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consult with University administration and faculty for resolution of problems as required.

Screen and evaluate athletic qualification of prospective football recruits, coordinate with University Undergraduate Admissions Office to establish to academic eligibility and arrange meetings between prospects and the University; recommend individuals for football scholarships.

Coordinate compilation and analysis of game statistics for an assigned area of Duke football team performance.

Assist in the planning and administering of the off-season physical training program; provide special training for individual football team members as required.

Study, evaluate and recommend innovations in football strategy and equipment.

Represent the Duke University Athletic Department in professional, civic, charity, and alumni events.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
