Occupational Summary

Direct the daily operations and coordinate programmatic activities for the Master's program in Statistical Science (MSS). Implement and coordinate outreach to industry with the purpose of placing MSS' students in internships and permanent positions. Work with faculty to develop and implement strategic plans that advance the Department's educational mission for the MSS

Work Performed

Lead and coordinate training of master's students in skills related to being a statistical scientist, including effective communication and securing employment.

Develop and nurture strategic relationships with employers who hire program students and graduates for internships and permanent positions.

Coordinate student applications and admission process.

Develop and implement advertising strategies to ensure high quality applicant pool that meets the enrollment needs of the program, including establishing and maintaining domestic and international pipelines for recruiting high quality prospective students.

Review program curriculum and develop and implement plans to maintain curriculum relevancy with the faculty in Statistical Science.

Participate in and coordinate faculty advising of master's students in statistical science.

Work with Departmental staff to maintain list of master's alumni and promote master's alumni engagement with the Department.

Represent the Department on campus and off campus on matters related to master's programs.

Work with the Chair, DGS, and Staff on financial matters related to the MSS program.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires at least a master's degree in Statistical Science or a Data Science related discipline. Ph.D. degree is preferred.

Experience

Applicants with a Ph.D. degree should have 4 or more years combined experience in careers that use statistical science or administration in a related master's program. Applicants with a master's degree should have 8 or more years combined experience in careers that use statistical science or administration in a related master's program.

Candidates can have an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
