Occupational Summary

Plan, develop, coordinate and perform promotional activities for products and/or services.

Work Performed

Plan, develop, coordinate and participate in the promotion of products and/or services with activities such as advertising in campus publications, distributing flyers, preparing brochures, developing video presentations and developing other promotional vehicles.

Design advertisements; prepare articles for publication in trade magazines and journals; develop, write, edit, lay out and provide graphic assistance for newsletters, brochures, booklets and other publications.

Coordinate with printers and other personnel to ensure publications are printed on schedule and according to budgetary and other requirements.

Coordinate advertisements and notices to include obtaining, establishing priorities among and scheduling announcements.

Assist with the preparation of audio-visual materials and handouts used in local, regional or national presentations.

Organize, assist with and conduct interviews and other public relations activities; photograph special events and activities; coordinate with representative of the media to place articles in local and national newspapers and magazines.

Perform various accounting tasks in maintaining, monitoring, billing and reconciling expenses associated with promoting projects to ensure budgetary responsibility.

Develop and coordinate a program for dissemination of internal information to include announcements pertaining to employee recognition, awards and recom-mendations, student appreciation week, special events and other items of interest.

Interview, hire and provide in-service training for students in the areas of design, graphic art, photography and the use of desktop publishing computer software; supervise the design and production of marketing and communications materials, including advertisements, flyers and brochures, to ensure proper focus, quality and content.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
