Occupational Summary

Assist in the development, interpretation and implementation of University policies and programs to relieve the Chancellor Emeritus of Duke University of administrative detail.

Work Performed

Review reports received from the University and outside sources concerning policies, operations and national trends in higher education; notify Chancellor Emeritus of contents.

Assist in handling correspondence for the Chancellor Emeritus of Duke University by making referrals, answering in the name of incumbent, and drafting memoranda and letters for the signature of the Chancellor Emeritus.

Maintain liaison with employees, faculty and all levels of administration to facilitate the resolution of problems.

Coordinate and conduct studies requiring direction from the Office of the Chancellor Emeritus.

Represent the Chancellor Emeritus as appropriate; prepare data and make presentations reflecting the position of the Office of the Chancellor Emeritus.

Supervise and coordinate the work of designated employees, reviewing completed work for adherence to instructions and correctness.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
