Occupational Summary

Develop, implement and coordinate various health education activities involved in providing national and local information and educational programs related to cancer screenings.

Work Performed

Develop, organize and coordinate health education programs; identify health care problems, recommend courses of action and evaluate results.

Adapt and implement national and local information, campaigns and education programs to meet the needs of high risk populations in the service area.

Develop, conduct and evaluate training programs in health care; educate members of the community about available resources and appropriate referrals to increase utilization of programs and solve health problems.

Maintain interface with civic groups and health service agencies; develop health goals and determine availability of health services for cancer patients.

Provide education and training consultation to service agencies and consumer organizations; encourage community approaches to health delivery.

Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions; maintain accurate records reflecting work activities.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology or a related allied health field.

Experience

Two years of experience working in a related field. A master's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
