Occupational Summary

Administer and direct Duke University Federal Credit Union (DUFUC) lending programs in accordance with established policies and in compliance with applicable laws governing federal credit unions. Develop, recommend and implement services, consumer and real estate loan programs, and policies that provide members with financial alternatives consistent with DUFCU philosophy, member demand and competitive and economic forces.

Work Performed

Develop, implement and manage lending functions of DUFCU as authorized by the Board of Directors; direct the administration of consumer lending operations within established policy; ensure all loan policy compliance; act as chief lending officer of the Credit Union; decide approval of loans on appeal; serve as liaison to the correspondent Mortgage Company.

Develop, recommend and implement lending services and the means of delivery of these services within budget and regulatory limits; oversee all call center operations, mortgage lending operations, financial guidance unit, and delinquency control and collections to ensure efficient operation and compliance.

Research and recommend new lending programs, mortgage loan processors, and policies.

Act as liaison between DUFCU lending services area and management team to ensure effective and efficient implementation of policies that best serve the membership including quality control and service delivery.

Serve as member of the DUFCU strategic planning team; act for the Director in his absence as appropriate.

Serve as Staff on the Board of Director's Membership committee.

Manage the marketing and cross selling of services to membership in the lending services' area.

Manage various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, transfers, vacation schedules and over time.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a background in business principles normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.

Experience

Work requires five years lending experience in a credit union or related financial institution.
