Occupational Summary

Analyze departmental training needs, develop and administer instructional programs to meet the management and employee requirements of the University and train instructors in the proper use of such programs.

Work Performed

Determine and analyze training needs of specific segments of University personnel; develop, coordinate and validate instructional programs to meet the management and employee requirements of the University and train instructors in the proper use of such programs.

Formulate plans and procedures to provide adequate training and development programs.

Conduct follow up studies to determine effectiveness of training programs by evaluating both content and resulting job performance; recommend changes as required.

Develop programs to train supervisors in the interpretation of supervisory responsibilities and practices with regard to self improvement in leadership, counseling, communication, work simplification, planning, promoting, decision making, performance appraisal, application of basic management principles, and other related functions.

Maintain contacts with other universities, training organizations, and associations for the purpose of keeping abreast of new training developments and courses and seminars relevant to University needs and objectives.

Arrange, coordinate and conduct courses and seminars relevant to University needs and objectives.

Formulate and compile training manuals and other training aids; obtain equipment, training films and other visual aids; organize and maintain reference files and collections of finished materials.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires one year of experience in an instructional or operational role directly related to the field that will be trained.
