Occupational Summary

Manage and coordinate functions within Duke Stores Operations to include implementation and maintenance of inventory management systems and the receipt, storage, sale, and distribution of retail merchandise and related supplies.

Work Performed

Manage and coordinate the receipt, storage, sale, and distribution of merchandise for Stores Operations;monitor supply and demand of merchandise and develop inventory management and control systems to ensure adequate stock levels, loss prevention and efficient space usage; develop short- and long-range goals to address demands for increased storage capacity.

Maintain interface with vendors and service representatives to ensure that merchandise and supplies meet established specifications and that applicable guidelines are met regarding the quality of the merchandise received, timeliness of delivery and product availability.

Manage and coordinate periodic and annual inventory of merchandise; interact with Internal Audit and StoresOperations management and accounting personnel to plan and coordinate inventories and audit reviews.

Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the Store facilities. Interface directly with facilities management and outside vendors related to building needs. Work with building occupants to ensure needs are met and issues are promptly addressed.

In coordination with the Stores Loss Prevention manager, ensure appropriate general physical security is established and maintained at the Stores locations.

Prepare operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and conclusions;develop,recommend and implement policies and procedures; keep abreast with industry trends and new and changing techniques relating to the receiving, storage and distribution of merchandise.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate work for the group, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for the performance of tasks.

Recommend various personnel functions to include hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers andvacation schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Experience

Work requires four years of experience in inventory receiving, distribution or storage, merchandising, retail, stores operations or related business to acquire skills necessary to manage the warehouse facilities for a large retail operation.
