Occupational Summary

Administer and manage paying and receiving operations of the main office and all branches of the Duke University Federal Credit Union in accordance with established policies and in compliance with applicable laws governing federal credit unions. Manage, coordinate and implement services, consumer programs, and policies to provide members with financial alternatives consistent with DUFCU philosophy, member demand, and competitive and economic forces.

Work Performed

Manage the member service operations to include hiring, training, and supervising staff members carrying out member service and paying and receiving functions, all savings programs and compliance including IRA's and financial planning, and all loan disbursements; serve as truth in savings compliance officer; work with the director and assistant directors to improve DUFCU operations and services.

Ensure effective administration of branch offices and member service operations through internal controls and establishment of internal procedures and polices; oversee the implementation of new products, policies and procedures; open new branches as decided by the Board and the CEO.

Manage the member insurance programs to include credit life and disability, life savings death claims, and collateral protection, DUFCU programs in certificates of deposit and IRA's to include compliance with laws reporting requirements, activities related to returned deposited cash items and forgery items, and maintenance of signature card file for membership, W-9 and share draft cards.

Act as security officer to provide adequate security and protection of staff and assets.

Act as management representative to ensure members' needs are met and problems resolved.

Supervise the marketing and cross-selling of services to membership in the member services area.

Manage various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, transfers, vacation schedules and overtime; select, train, and motivate entry level career staff.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a knowledge of business principles normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.

Experience

Work requires experience in loan processing and general credit union cash operations, generally acquired through five years experience in a credit union or related financial institution.
