Occupational Summary

Direct all phases of a development program for the Fuqua School of Business including the management of the corporate, alumni and public relations programs, to build strong and effective relationships with prospective and previous donors.

Work Performed

Direct overall activities of the External Affairs staff in conducting corporate, alumni and public relations programs which promote the Fuqua School of Business appropriately.

Plan, direct and/or review new or major external affairs initiatives ensuring coordination with appropriate School, University Development and other University personnel.

Develop strategies for major gift solicitations; identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts from perspective donors maintaining liaison with University Developments Major Gifts Office.

Maintain and develop procedures in coordination with and consistent with established recording procedures of the Office of Gift Records to ensure effective collecting, recording, accounting, acknowledgment and follow up on all private gifts to the Fuqua School of Business.

Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.

Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions and vacation schedules.

Determine fiscal requirements for External Affairs; prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor expenses.

Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
