Occupational Summary
Plan, coordinate and implement activities within the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations to provide corporate and/or private foundation support of Duke University's goals and priorities.
Work Performed
Plan and coordinate a variety of fund raising activities and programs to promote corporate and/or private foundation support of Duke University's goals and priorities; assume primary responsibility for selected fund raising projects and prospects as assigned.
Identify, develop, and maintain contact with corporation and/or foundation prospects to develop their interest and participation in Duke University; research corporate and foundation prospects for various projects and recommend proposal design and strategies for solicitation. Research and write corporation and/or foundation proposals; review and edit proposals developed by others; work closely with the development staff in research, development and writing of proposals to corporations and/or foundations to benefit Duke University. Review and assist with reports to and/or concerning corporate and/or foundation donors and prospects; develop and maintain appropriate donor tracking and reporting systems.
Represent the Development Office before a variety of individuals and groups providing information regarding fund raising activities and University programs.
Coordinate responsibilities within Duke's corporate matching gift program as assigned.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work requires four years experience in alumni affairs, public relations, fund raising, sales and promotions, marketing, student activities or a related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in a corporate and/or foundation fund raising program. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
