Occupational Summary
Work Performed
TA CLIENT AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Manage assigned accounts by identifying and qualifying new opportunities, handling inbound inquiries, qualifying opportunities and helping manage sponsors and coordinating opportunity advancement from initial conversation through CDA, proposal submission, and award.
Lead these opportunities to meet annual revenue targets for the TA area.
Collaborate with faculty, operations, and proposals teams to prepare for strategic meetings, build cross-functional pursuit teams, and follow through on sponsor requests. For each opportunity, have a clear understanding and documentation of services needed, key contacts, revenue potential, services requested and status.
Support the development and submission of high quality proposals by sharing sponsor intelligence, drafting executive summaries, and contributing to pricing and positioning strategies as needed.
Ensure all active and potential opportunities are tracked accurately in the appropriate DCRI systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Maintain a strong working knowledge of DCRI service offerings to support cross-sell and tailored positioning across sponsor engagements.
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
Work collaboratively with the Industry Partnerships leadership, and Therapeutic Area Leads to identify emerging opportunities and refine tactical approaches.
Leverage DCRI business intelligence platforms and CRM systems to inform strategic targeting and uncover new sponsor leads.
Coordinate with Marketing Communications to ensure sponsor facing materials accurately reflect sponsor priorities, DCRI capabilities, and faculty strengths.
Support faculty and DCRI visibility at key conferences by recommending speaker opportunities and participating in targeted outreach activities.Focus on improving the sponsor experience through partnerships with Operations, Marketing, Proposals, and Faculty.
Identify and lead initiatives with Operational Excellence that have the opportunity for high impact in improving the sales process and customer satisfaction.
Team and Institutional Contribution
Help foster a collaborative and high performing culture within the business development team by sharing tools, templates, and lessons learned.
Support onboarding and mentorship of new team members when appropriate.
Contribute to broader DCRI initiatives by integrating sponsor feedback and market insights into business development messaging, tactics, and processes.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Bachelor degree in business, science or other related discipline.
Experience
5 years combined marketing, sales, proposal, project management or business development experience at a Contract Research Organization (CRO), Academic Research Organization (ARO), or a comparable healthcare organization.
Master degree and experience in review and negotiation preferred
