Occupational Summary
Perform a variety of advanced biometrical statistical and technical activities for the design, analysis and interpretation of statistical data. Supervise and provide training for lower level statisticians.
Work Performed
Perform a variety of advanced biometrical statistical and technical activities for the design, analysis and interpretation of statistical data in conjunction with an academic research program based in one of the departments, centers or institutes of the University.
Provide the statistical input required in the design, conduct and analysis of major scientific research studies.
Evaluate research studies and recommend statistical procedures, including, but not limited to, hypothesis tests, regression models and multivariate analysis to analyze the data.
Provide input and oversight for implementing efficient computerized research data management systems using commercially available software and hardware. Perform complex statistical analyses for a broad spectrum of types of data and types of studies.
Prepare reports that summarize the analysis of research data, interpret the findings and provide conclusions and recommendations.
Supervise the work of statisticians and provide training for lower level or less experienced employees engaged in the collection, tabulation and analysis of statistical research data. Present talks, seminars or other oral presentations of the methodology and analyses used in scientific studies.
Participate in the preparation of manuscripts that are submitted for peer review publication.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Position requires a minimum of a Master's degree in statistics, (bio) statistics or related field and 4 years relevant experience, Bachelor's degree in statistics, (bio) statistics or related field and 6 years relevant experience.
