Occupational Summary

Provide research and reporting on athletics department strategic initiatives to the Director of Athletics, Executive and Senior Staffs as directed by the Director of Athletics. Work with Athletics Development on fundraising initiatives and other special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Work Performed

Research how pending changes in NCAA regulations (such as dining and housing) impact student athletes and how other BCS institutions are preparing to respond to these changes.

Research prevailing trends at other BCS institutions.

Report on research results and provide recommendation options for changes taking into consideration how Duke currently operates.

Work with the Athletics Development staff to grow annual and major gift giving among former student athletes.

Work with the Major Gifts staff to identify and cultivate specific individuals for fundraising gifts.

Develop and oversee the annual student athlete all sports banquet where Duke University student athletes can be honored and recognized by their peers.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work generally requires organizational, analytical and communication skills normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

A minimum of five years of administrative experience, preferably in a Division 1A Athletics program.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
