Occupational Summary
Supervise and coordinate the operational activities of the Accounting Data division of Accounting Services.
Work Performed
Supervise and coordinate the operational activities of the Accounting Data division of Accounting Services and provide support to the Manager, Accounting Services for overall consistency and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Direct and monitor the compilation and issuance of monthly financial statements; ensure the assignment of proper object and component codes, the accurate updating of fund header file data and the updating of fund distribution data; ensure the proper handling of ledger data to include input, editing, balancing, auditing and overall data systems.
Direct the auditing of impress cash/travel funds for compliance with Internal Revenue Service and University policies; monitor the issuance of impress cash/travel reimbursement checks and the assignment of such changes to proper University fund codes.
Coordinate the preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Plan and schedule work for the group, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties; train new personnel.
Plan and conduct meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, implement new policies, and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards.
Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work generally requires knowledge normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a directly related field.
Experience
Work requires three years progressive experience in an accounting environment.
