Develop programs and strategies to identify, cultivate, track and solicit alumni, parents and friends of the University for significant gifts to support programs of the Perkins Library System.
Identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts prospects for the Perkins Library System; recommend and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies of individual prospects, working with administration, faculty and volunteers as appropriate; meet with prospects and volunteers, traveling as necessary. Direct research requests and provide information on University alumni, parents and friends to qualify interest and giving potential; develop feasibility and funding strategies for new programs as defined by Library administration. Maintain knowledge of current tax laws, investments and planned giving opportunities; use knowledge in prospect cultivation and solicitation as appropriate.
Assist Library administration in supporting the activities of Perkins Library and in the recognition and establishment of priorities of funding needs; keep abreast of the Library's priorities, personalities and events.
Cultivate and present proposals to corporate and foundation prospects as requested.
Develop appropriate written communications for the Perkins Library System to include editing and production of Library publications; determine and coordinate non-print communication projects.
Coordinate fund raising activities with the University Development Office staff to include policies, strategies, prospect clearance and donor recognition. Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Work requires seven years experience in alumni affairs, public relations, fund raising, sales and promotions, marketing, student activities or a related field in order to acquire skills necessary to direct, plan and administer a comprehensive fund raising solicitation program. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
