Occupational Summary

Provide evaluation, brief psychotherapy, crisis intervention and/or personal counseling utilizing individual, conjoint and group treatment modalities to assist Duke students.

Work Performed

Provide evaluation, brief psychotherapy, crisis intervention and/or personal counseling utilizing individual, conjoint and group treatment modalities to assist Duke students.

Consult with members of the University community including administrators, faculty, individual students and student groups concerning the mental health and personal development of students; develop and deliver effective programs of preventive mental health education and outreach in areas of student need identified.

Prepare reports concerning the history and treatment of students; maintain case records.

Provide clinical and consultative supervision for advanced trainees in the mental health professions of clinical social work, psychology and psychiatry.

Conduct research and contribute to professional literature in the areas of college mental health and student development.

Participate in regional and national professional organizations to maintain awareness of current trends in student mental health and personal development.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Master's degree from an accredited school of social work required. Current licensure as a licensed clinical social worker by the NC Social Work and Certification and Licensure Board.

Experience

Two years of post masters experience in a clinical setting and five years of experience in a student mental health agency or relevant healthcare or social service setting.
