Manage and coordinate activities of assigned functional unit within the Data Management section of the Clinical Research Institute to ensure that activities and programs are consistent with departmental objectives, administrative policies and practices.
Manage and coordinate activities and staff within functional unit to ensure that programs, activities and services are consistent with departmental objectives, policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain liaison between each of the functional units within Data Management as well as within the Clinical Research Institute, trial sites, and sponsors as needed to ensure effective coordination of optimal data management.
Assist management and other staff members in problem solving, goal setting and development of strategies for implementation and evaluation of activities including, but not limited to, trial start-up, development of standard operating procedures, and completion of the trial close-out process.
Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations and/or conclusions on subjects relating to data management and quality assurance.
Make recommendations regarding fiscal and staffing requirements of the unit to assist in preparation of budgetary recommendations.
Stay abreast of new developments in the field of data management; participate in activities related to clinical research; recommend new policies and revise existing policies/procedure as needed. Recommend various personnel activities including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance appraisal, professional growth and transfers.
Plan and schedule work for the group insuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires a general background normally acquired though completion of a Bachelor's degree in a business related field or science or arts.
Work generally requires two years of directly related experience in clinical trials research; or three years experience in general research; or an advanced clerical position to become familiar with the basic techniques and methods used to collect, compile, verify, and store medically related information. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
