Occupational Summary

Position provides leadership, strategic vision, and manages day to day operation for Fuqua's Alumni Relations and Annual Giving teams.

Work Performed

Strengthen the alumni network through volunteer development, alumni services, educational programming, and a comprehensive communications strategy, with the goal of continuous involvement and engagement of alumni.

Deploy a variety of initiatives to increase unrestricted annual support for Fuqua among alumni, students, faculty, and staff, including class gift campaigns for all six Fuqua programs, reunion giving campaigns, and faculty/staff support campaigns.

Provide strategic direction and management of Fuquas alumni boards, including the Alumni Council, Minority Alumni Advisory Board, and Health Care Alumni Advisory Board.

Plan and facilitate biannual Alumni Council meetings and sub committee meetings between sessions.

Coordinate with the Council Chair and Co Chair to manage Councils membership selection process, including identification, nomination, selection, training and staffing of Alumni Council members, ensuring representation from Fuquas multiple degree programs.

Develop and maintain a personal portfolio of leadership giving society members and prospects, with an emphasis on those individuals who have given or who have potential to give at least $1,000 annually.

Serve as a member of the departmental leadership team that advises the Associate Dean on strategic and administrative matters.

Work with other leaders in the department to maximize coordination among staff and meet development goals.

Measure and report out progress towards alumni engagement and annual giving goals and provide insight into improving the effectiveness of alumni relations and annual giving activities.

Develop fundraising strategies to increase the number of high end alumni annual fund donors and prospects, increasing the visibility of and membership in Fuqua's leadership giving club, engaging Fuquas Dean as appropriate.

Manage the personal solicitation process for leadership donors, including Board of Visitors and Alumni Council members, assigning donors and prospects to other Annual Giving or Major Gifts officers, reviewing solicitation activity and tracking progress on an ongoing basis.

Develop staff members, including providing professional coaching, advocating for resources for continuous learning, and articulating a path for promotion within the institution.

Serve on University committees and participate in business school consortiums pertaining to alumni relations and annual giving.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires organizational and communications skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Graduate degree preferred.

Experience

Work requires five years of experience in higher education, alumni relations, or development. Demonstrated fundraising experience, including personal solicitation of prospects and donors.
