Occupational Summary

Provide vision, creative leadership, and oversight of comprehensive and integrated assessment, communications and technology services and initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs. Support the Vice President in the development and monitoring of the Division strategic plan. Oversee compliance and reaccreditation processes for Student Affairs. Work proactively and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders and serve as a member of the senior leadership team.

Work Performed

Provide creative leadership, vision and oversight of assessment, communications, and technology services, processes, and initiatives for the Division.

Establish operational goals in line with the Divisions strategic plan and monitor progress and achievement.

As a member of the senior leadership team, serve as a leader and resource to the Division as well as broader campus community.

Contribute to a climate of collaboration through strong working relationships with staff and faculty.

With the Vice President, lead and monitor the division wide strategic planning process.

Oversee communications and marketing plans, policies, and processes for the Division including branding, crisis, and special event communications, websites, and social media.

Oversee staff and services of the Office of Communications and Marketing.

Oversee assessment activities for the Division including development of assessment plans and learning outcomes as well as data analysis and reporting.

Oversee staff and services of the Office of Assessment and Research.

Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies and provide leadership in the identification of tools and solutions to enhance service delivery throughout the division.

Ensure standards and policies related to data management are maintained. Oversee staff and services of Information Technology Services.

Provide oversight of compliance requirements, policies, and documentation. Maintain current knowledge of pertinent Federal, State and international regulations as well as institutional policies and practices.

Serves as the Divisions primary point of contact for reaccreditation.

Develop and monitor the Resource Administration budget.

Oversee preparation of monthly financial reports and variance projections.

Ensure good stewardship of resources in accordance with division and university policies.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Master's degree in a relevant field.

Experience

Minimum eight years of progressive experience in at least one area related to areas of oversight. Experience in higher education strongly preferred and student affairs a plus. Demonstrated success in staff supervision and performance management, strategic planning, budget planning, and service innovations also required. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal. Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills.
