Occupational Summary

Manage the overall activities of the Hospital Gift Shops including merchandising, display, sales, inventory levels, maintenance of cash receipts, record keeping and preparation of pertinent financial reports.

Work Performed

Manage the ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, packaging and researching of all Gift Shops merchandise selections.

Plan and coordinate all sale programs and coordinate special events in the Hospital Gift Shops.

Manage the display of merchandise and coordinate merchandise allocation from the Distribution Center.

Work with the team to develop lay out plans for display of merchandise.

Ensure the proper entry of order data in the POS system.

Meet with vendors to determine product purchase selection and quantities.

Assist with the preparation of the annual budget of anticipated sales, expenses, and inventories.

Review financial statements regularly to monitor potential problems.

Recommend the procurement of equipment and facilities instrumental to the performance of operations.

Plan work schedules, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for performance of duties.

Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Requires 3 years experience in a retail management position.
