Occupational Summary
The Director of Academic Integrity and Access plays a critical role in upholding and advancing Fuqua???s commitment to integrity, fairness, and ethical conduct across all academic programs. The Director will oversee the administration, education, and evaluation of Fuqua???s Honor Code and academic integrity processes, serving as both an investigator and educator to the school community, provide leadership for and oversee the administration of academic accommodations for students in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related university policies, and work closely with the Senior Associate Dean for Programs and the school???s degree program teams.
Work Performed
Administration of the Honor Code
Oversee and manage, in consultation with the Senior Associate Dean for Programs, the full lifecycle of Honor Code and academic integrity cases for all Fuqua programs (currently Daytime MBA, Executive MBA, MMS, MQM, MSQM, and MBCS).
Conduct investigations into potential violations, including evidence review, interviews, and documentation, and coordinate the logistics of judicial hearings.
Advise and support the Judicial Board in case hearings and resolution processes.
Maintain accurate records, ensure procedural consistency, and safeguard confidentiality.
Administration of Academic ADA Accommodations
Oversee the administration of academic accommodations for students in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Duke University policies.
Ensure consistent, timely, and equitable implementation of approved accommodations across all academic programs and modalities.
Partner with faculty and program staff to support effective implementation of accommodations while maintaining academic standards and course integrity.
Handle sensitive accommodation-related issues with discretion, professionalism, and respect for student privacy.
Education and Outreach
Develop and deliver educational programming for students across all programs to promote understanding of Fuqua???s Honor Code, ethical decision-making, and professional responsibility, as well as ADA accommodations-related resources.
Create and maintain accessible online resources, workshops, and orientation materials on academic integrity and access, and distribute them to relevant stakeholders (students, staff, and faculty as needed).
Partner with program offices to embed integrity education throughout the student lifecycle.
Solicit and evaluate feedback from students on the effectiveness of academic integrity processes.
Recruit, hire, train, and oversee testing proctors to ensure consistent, secure, and policy-compliant administration of examinations across all academic programs.
Faculty Engagement and Support
Advise the Senior Associate Dean for Programs and faculty on best practices related to both academic integrity and the effective implementation of approved student accommodations.
Serve as a liaison between faculty, administration, and students to help foster a culture of trust and ethical behavior.
Process Development and Improvement
With the Senior Associate Dean for Programs, review and refine policies, procedures, and documentation related to the Honor Code and ADA Accommodations to ensure consistency, adherence, and efficiency.
Benchmark Fuqua???s academic integrity and accommodations practices against peer institutions and propose process improvements.
Utilize data and case analysis to identify trends and propose interventions.
Collaborate with IT and academic operations to evaluate and improve tools that help improve access and detect and prevent academic dishonesty.
Staff Supervision and Institutional Collaboration
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for the Accommodations Coordinator, including goal setting, workload prioritization, and professional development.
Ensure clear role delineation and effective coordination between academic integrity processes and accommodations implementation.
Foster a collaborative, service-oriented approach to supporting students and faculty across integrity and accessibility functions.
Collaborate closely with the Dean???s Office, Program Leadership, IT, the Student Disability Access Office (SDAO), and Legal Counsel as appropriate.
Represent Fuqua in University-wide committees or working groups related to academic integrity, student conduct, and ADA accommodations.
Prepare annual reports and data summaries highlighting trends, outcomes, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Master???s or higher degree in higher education administration, business administration, ethics, law, or a related field.
Experience
6 years of relevant experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of higher education policies and student conduct processes.
